As we all know, Ford continues to be one of the most popular carmakers and leaders in the United States and is a contributor to many aspects of our vehicles’ new innovations for technology, environment, and versatility. Ford’s efforts have paid off and as a result, they have earned several awards, as they do each year.
J. D. Power & Associates Awards: Each year J. D. Power & Associates awards specific cars as the “best” of a particular category. The Ford E-series vans were awarded as the “best van” in 2008. The 2008 Ford Ranger took second place among all compact pickup trucks. Lastly, Ford had two third place winners. The 2008 Ford Fusion took third place for mid-size cars and the 2008 Ford Escape took third place for compact MAV (Multi-activity vehicle).
Energy Star Award: Ford Motor Company has won the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) 2008 Energy Star Award for the third year in a row. This award shows how committed Ford is to helping our environment.
Green Car of the Year: Whatgreencar.com has awarded its first Green Car of the Year award in 2008 to the Ford Focus ECOnetic. Ford is due to come out with more ECOnetic vehicles next year.
Most Significant Vehicle: The 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck was named the “Most Significant Vehicle” at the 2008 North American International Auto Show by the editors at Auto Week magazine.
Ford Sync: The Ford Sync system wins the 2008 Best New Technology Award by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) and also accomplished the Breakthrough Award given by Popular Mechanics. Last but not least, Popular Science magazine recognized the Ford Sync with the “Best of What’s New Award”.
These are some of the many reasons that Ford Motor Company is one of our leaders in automobiles. Of course, we know Ford has been around since the beginning and I don’t see this company going anywhere but “up”.
